My journey with BCIO began in 2013 when I became a member of the BRIDGE CLUB Pakistan. At that time, it took me a while to truly understand what BCIO represented, or what the OMOIYARI spirit really meant. However, in 2016, when I became a Peace Ambassador and attended the PA Program, my perspective underwent a complete transformation. That experience opened my eyes to the depth and impact of both BCIO and APCC.
I feel privileged to have witnessed the transition into the smartphone era, which transformed the way we connect. This shift from computers to handheld devices and even wearables has brought our BCIO network closer than ever before.
Over the years, I have not only learned to live by the OMOIYARI spirit but also had the opportunity to share those learnings and experiences with junior members of BRIDGE CLUBs across the world. Serving as a HOM during the COVID-19 pandemic was especially unique; we had to build a virtual PA program entirely from scratch. It was an experiment that turned out to be a success and has since evolved into today’s hybrid model, with both virtual and in-person programs. This change now allows Peace Ambassadors to form bonds before they even meet at the physical camp.
Today, I am fortunate to be supported by an amazing team of dedicated Assistant Managers and Advisors. Together, our mission is to strengthen and activate BRIDGE CLUBs around the world, ensuring that the OMOIYARI spirit continues to thrive across generations.
As we work with BRIDGE CLUBs, helping them solve challenges, supporting them as a team, and following through on their progress, we move closer to a shared vision. Eventually, we will build a cohesive global village, strengthened by the OMOIYARI spirit, where the circle only grows wider.
Let’s make it happen. We are the BRIDGE!
